 Welcome to Alison Horwood Handweaving, a place to share my handwoven creations along with the beautiful craft of weaving.

Weaving has been my hobby for over 30 years, a passion that began when I first laid my eyes on a floor loom at college.
I love to explore the way colour, texture and pattern interplay to create unique textiles, ranging from plain weave in handspun yarn to intricately patterned creations using unusual colour combinations (you never know what's going to work!)  

Over the years I  have come to appreciate the mindfullness (and mindlessness) of weaving. It's the perfect way to slow things down, be with ones creative thoughts and exercise that mind/body connection in the physical act of weaving.
